St. Augustine's Anglican Church

The St Augustine’s Bridge Club meets each Tuesday in the Anglican Parish Centre to play duplicate bridge.

Partners will be provided, and visitors and beginners are welcome.

The cost is $2.00 per person, and 50 cents for morning tea.

The St Augustine's Community Group meets every Wednesday of school term at 9:30am to 2:00pm. This group encourages the elderly and shut-ins to participate in a time of fun and fellowship through outings, craft, guest speakers and games. A light lunch is provided for a small donation. Table Tennis Table Tennis at St Augustine’s means that you laugh a lot, bend a lot, are constantly challenged and also encouraged, with a bunch of good sports. If this sounds like you, you’re welcome to join the group.

We meet in the old squash court behind the Parish Office, which is the ideal venue for an hilarious evening.

Every Thursday 7:00pm to 8.30pm. You can love God and still have a lot of fun.

St. Augustine's Performing Arts Group uses drama, music, movement, mime and clowning to draw people into a personal participation in the gospel. Each medium, alone or in concert has the capacity to reach beyond the intellect and touch our feelings and inner depths, to instruct, to challenge or to open us to a deeper response to God's presence in worship.

The only qualification to join our group is a willingness to offer in God's service the talents He has given. Enquires welcomed through Don Turnbull, phone 02 6649 1296.

The spirit of the St Augustine’s Anglican Guild is to take up the command of Jesus that we should be servants of Him and each other. We encourage members to fulfil their servanthood by voluntary work for the church and its mission, provide Christian fellowship among those engaged in this work, encourage personal prayer and regular worship.

We fulfil some of these objectives by raising money for missions and the church. We support the North Coast Children's Home with a Charity Luncheon each year. Money is also raised for missions overseas via ABM Auxilliary and we also send clothing and church vestments to Papua/New Guinea. The Diocesan Youth Committee is supported as is the Bishop’s Discretionary Fund. When needed, we also help with the finances of special projects for St Augustine’s – for example, new vestments and the sound system.

Catering for funerals is a special calling enabling us to help the families of the bereaved, and hopefully making their sad occasion more bearable. Our last function was to cater for a wedding, which was a very joyous time for all concerned.

Home Fellowship Groups have been created to: -

Provide Christian fellowship in a relaxed home environment
Provide an opportunity to grow in the Christian faith and mature as Christians through study
Make neighbours and friends feel welcome – to assist their spiritual development, without pressuring them into the fellowship of the Church
Grow numerically so as to be continually reaching out into our neighbourhood and community
Provide Christian nurture and guidance in day to day living and to encourage them to join corporate worship
Follow up members if they miss a night or do not appear at Church, to see if they have a need or crisis, and minister accordingly
Report to the Rector on any areas where there are needs or problems
